  • Description

Our Lavender Tallow Balm is made with natural, free-range, grass-fed, non-GMO beef tallow, organic beeswax, organic olive oil, and lavender essential oil.  Each of these ingredients has wonderful benefits for your skin!

This balm has a light floral scent, so it’s perfect for those who may be sensitive to smells, while still keeping all the benefits of the essential oil.

Skin Benefits of Each Ingredient

  1. Beef Tallow
    • Moisturizing and Nourishing: Tallow is rich in fatty acids (like stearic, oleic, and palmitic acids) that mimic the skin’s natural sebum, making it deeply moisturizing and compatible with most skin types. It helps restore the skin’s lipid barrier, locking in moisture.
    • Nutrient-Dense: Contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, which support skin repair, elasticity, and protection from environmental damage.
    • Anti-Inflammatory: The conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in tallow (especially from grass-fed cows) has anti-inflammatory properties, soothing irritated or dry skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
    • Non-Comedogenic (for most): Despite being a heavy fat, tallow is surprisingly non-pore-clogging for many, as its composition aligns with human skin lipids.
  2. Beeswax
    • Protective Barrier: Beeswax forms a natural protective layer on the skin, shielding it from environmental stressors (like wind or cold) while locking in moisture without clogging pores.
    • Healing Properties: Contains vitamin A, which supports skin cell regeneration and can aid in healing minor cuts, scrapes, or chapped skin.
    • Antibacterial and Anti-Inflammatory: Beeswax has natural antimicrobial properties, helping to keep skin clean and reduce inflammation.
    • Texture Stabilizer: Beyond skin benefits, it gives the salve its firm, spreadable consistency, ensuring even application.
  3. Olive Oil
    • Hydration and Softening: Rich in oleic acid, olive oil is a potent emollient that softens and hydrates the skin, making it ideal for dry or rough patches.
    • Antioxidant-Rich: Contains polyphenols and vitamin E, which combat free radical damage, supporting skin health and potentially reducing signs of aging.
    • Anti-Inflammatory: Its compounds, like oleocanthal, have anti-inflammatory effects, which can calm redness or irritation.
    • Penetration: Acts as a carrier oil, helping other ingredients (like essential oils) absorb into the skin more effectively.
  4. Lavender Essential Oil
    • Soothing and Anti-Inflammatory: Lavender oil, derived from Lavandula angustifolia, contains linalool and linalyl acetate, which reduce inflammation and soothe irritated or sensitive skin, making it ideal for conditions like eczema, burns, or rashes.
    • Healing and Regenerative: It promotes wound healing and skin cell regeneration, helping with minor cuts, burns, or scars. Studies suggest lavender oil can speed up recovery from minor skin injuries.
    • Antibacterial and Antifungal: Lavender’s antimicrobial properties help prevent infections and can reduce acne-causing bacteria, making it great for blemish-prone skin.
    • Sebum Regulation: It balances oil production, benefiting both oily and dry skin types, and can help prevent clogged pores.
    • Antioxidant Benefits: Lavender oil contains antioxidants that protect against environmental damage, potentially slowing signs of aging like wrinkles or sun damage.
    • Calming Effect: Its relaxing scent reduces stress and promotes better sleep, which can improve overall skin health by minimizing stress-induced breakouts or inflammation.

Because this product is all natural, it has a shelf life of roughly 6 months and should be stored at 75 degrees or below for maximum lifespan.
